Can you help me immigrate to the USA or Canada?
Our work related to visas and travel from Afghanistan to North America is exclusively focused on women who have successfully completed the application process with one of our partner institutions, and have received an offer letter of admission. We do not work on general immigration related issues or provide assistance or advice unrelated to student visa processing.
Education
Is your mentorship and scholarship placement program exclusively for Afghan women?
Yes. Our vision and mission statement for education are presently exclusively focused on assisting talented, motivated Afghan women with admission to English language university undergraduate programs.
Can you recommend scholarship resources for Afghan men?
Women Leaders of Tomorrow absolutely recognizes the importance of higher education for everyone in Afghanistan, not just women. Although we do not work directly with scholarship and placement programs for men, we recommend the Fulbright scholarship program which is administered by the US Embassy in Kabul. Possible scholarship programs may also be available through Kabul University and the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF). For persons residing in Pakistan, resources are available through the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan.
I work for a university in North America. How can I help?
Please contact us to open a dialogue between our organization and your institution’s administration and admissions department. We can use your help to advocate for scholarship funding, bursaries and grants.
Can I apply for a university program if I don’t live in Afghanistan?
Absolutely. Our work includes assisting Afghan women living in neighbouring countries such as Iran, Pakistan and India. If you are an Afghan woman residing outside of your home country, whether as a recognized refugee in another nation or with any other status, you are equally eligible to apply.
I’m an Afghan woman that has completed her bachelor’s degree. Can you help me to find and apply for a masters degree program in North America?
Yes. Although our primary focus is on admission to undergraduate programs, on a case by case basis we also assist qualified students with funding and placement for masters degree programs in the USA and Canada.
Are your programs limited to universities and colleges in North America?
Although our primary focus is on educational institutions in the USA and Canada, we also encourage Afghan women to pursue scholarship opportunities and study at other English language universities and colleges. Possible locations include the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Our management team and staff are presently based in North America, therefore we have a greater degree of familiarity with undergraduate admission requirements and application processes for domestic universities.
Judo
I work for a sports equipment manufacturer. What sponsorship opportunities exist working with the Afghan national Judo team?
Through our GOAL program, and direct contacts within the Afghan national Olympic committee, we can ensure that your company’s products make it directly to the athletes who need it most. Various sponsorship opportunities exist for men’s and women’s sportswear, martial arts and athletics supplies, Judo-specific equipment, and other items. The GOAL team in Kabul would be proud to display your company’s banner and sponsored material.
Can we invite members of the Afghan women’s Judo team to our competition?
Yes! One of the roles of our work within the GOAL program is to assist athletes with translation, travel arrangements, and the various logistics involved with travel to international Judo tournaments. Although as of October 2020 the majority of Judo competitions remain on hiatus due to covid-19, the national team’s activities and travel are expected to resume as soon as possible.
