Friba Rezayee

Friba was born and raised in Afghanistan. She made history by competing in Judo at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens as Afghanistan’s first ever female Olympian. Friba’s participation in the Olympics brought Afghanistan back to the world stage in sports after the fall of the Taliban. She inspired hundreds of other Afghan girls to join different sports. Farhad Hazrati

Farhad is a senior Judo coach with over two decades of experience. He has led the Afghan national Judo team from early 2000 to present. He has trained and prepared the Afghan national team from local competitions to world tournaments. Coach Hazrati has also trained many Afghan Judokas to prepare for the Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and the Rio 2016 Olympic games. He is a the head of Afghan girls’ national Judo team as well senior coach and advisor to the GOAL initiative.

Coach Hazrati has worked and collaborated with the members of IOC (International Olympic Committee) and IJF (International Judo Federation).

Parwin Askari

Parwin Askari is a member of Afghanistan’s women’s national Judo team. She was one of the first recipients of the GOAL initiative Judo sponsorship, traveling to Japan with assitance from the Japanese non-profit organization “JUDOs” at Tokai University, Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture. She has received formal and professional Judo training from Japan’s top Judo coach Sensei Kenjie. Presently a Judo instructor at the national training facility in Kabul, she leads the GOAL women’s team in Afghanistan.

Zakeera Hossaini

She is a member of Afghanistan’s women’s national Judo team. Zakeera was one of the first recipients of the GOAL initiative Judo sponsorship, traveling to Japan with assitance from the Japanese non-profit organization “JUDOs” at Tokai University, Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture. She has received formal and professional Judo training from Japan’s top Judo coach Sensei Kenjie. Zakeera is currently working as a physical education and Judo instructor at a private school in Kabul, and in a leadership role with the national women’s Judo team.

Nigara Shaheen

Nigara Shaheen is currently studying to obtain her Master’s degree in Ekaterinburg Russia. She is an IJF Judo athlete. She has practiced Judo a at world-class level and has been competed at numerous world tournaments such as including at Asian games in Hong Kong 2017, Dusseldorf Grand Slam in Germany and many more.

Ms. Shaheen has also worked as a Public Relation person at the Ministry of Trades in Afghanistan.
